» Biography / Interview:
Why you got hooked on riding?
I started racing, but I was very slow. So then I started catching air at the track and doing tricks. Then everything evolved from there.
You had or still have any bmx heros?
My inspiration or hero in the BMX industry. It would have to be my team mate, Goldie LeShaun Butler. Reason for that is because I've been looking up to him most of my career in the industry. He has taught me alot but not enough. (ha,ha,ha)
How old are you?
I'm now 23 years of age.
What are you doing when you don’t ride?
Mostly hanging out with my friends that don't ride BMX only because things get weird if the friends you have are only BMX friends. One time I was told that the key to a successful life is to have connections and friends. I think thats true, don't you?
When did you start?
I started racing at 8yrs and then started jumping doing tricks at about 10 or 11 yrs. old.
Who do you ride with and where? riding everyday?
I've been on a mission lately riding with my English mate named Arrash Saidi. Him, myself and Butler usually ride where ever, when ever we want. Which is mostly everyday unless some one is hurt.
Also on bmx shows?
I do shows for kids as well. I think touching the mind of a young individual is a blessing. I do shows for companies based out of San Diego, C.A.
How you learned the 360° babackflip?
Well, I was attempting double back-flips when I discovered myself twisting in mid air. Once I understood what was going on, I started to slow down the double back-flip. Then I started twisting more in the air, that right there will also slow down your flip rotation. When you do this trick its not about the flip. Its all about the 360 rotation mid way of your flip. Once you got all the math in your head, you should get an A on the test.
Any new tricks you’re working on?
I don't know if I should be talking about this. In the industry we have these people that like to steal glory away from people. If you know, then you know what I mean. What I can say is that I got 3 new tricks that no-one does and 1 of those tricks is death defying.
Do you like flatland?
Yes,I think flatland in the BMX industry is the most frustrating and technical way of riding.
married?
Hell no!!!
What are your plans for the future?
To stay safe and to make people happy.
Your sponsors in the past?
Huffy, Vans, Pro-tec, Dia-tec Brakes
How did you start with Dirt Jumping?
It developed from racing. Say I'd crash in a race, I'd get up and start to do big air tricks until I made it past the finish line. I had so much fun after I would crash during a race, because all I wanted to do is go big.
Riding Street?
Yah, I ride a little street. But to me street isn't something you can find at a skate park. Street is something around the corner from your house or on the side of a fence. That's street!
Sponsors?
KHE Bikes, Balls Deep Boxers, Heathen Pro., Pro-tec Helmets, Black Fly Sun Glasses, Silver Star, and Vans
Last words?
If a rider is a great rider then it doesn't matter what he's riding. There is a lot of companies that talk bad on each other. The only thing that matters about a bike is Length and Weight, thats it!!
And for all the kids out there. Do something you love because YOU love it, not because someone else does.
Thanks and god bless!
