Biography / Interview

Who are you, where are you from, and what are you doing?
I'm Chris Böhm - I live in the east side of Germany, in Bitterfeld. I'm an examed child nurse : and now I live again in my hometown Bitterfeld. I ride everyday with Dan Hennig. On Weekends we often organize shows and we love to show the crowd our synchronized riding styles!
Why BMX? Why Flatland? How long have you been riding?
I ride BMX because it's a feeling of balance and satisfaction for me - that's a positive resonance in my life. There are plenty possibilities to practice this kind of sport. I decided to ride flatland because it's an artistic and creative fusion of body and soul. You can build up your own style in your own world. It means very much for me and it's passion, not only a hard sport.
What exactly is newscoolflatland.de?
Newscoolflatland.de is not only a website for booking shows and competitions - it's also the content of two riders showing there lives together with the art of Flatland. Our visions and new ideas are pushing the development of Flatland.
Favourite Tricks? Combos?
I prefer combos with much rolling stuff and different positions, while trying to change fast into another trick so it seems like it's a dance on a bike. My newest combo is also my favorite combo!
Spots? Where can we meet you? Who do you ride with? Where have you been riding already?
You can meet me in Bitterfeld at the "Kreissparkasse" or in the BIZZ when there are bad weather conditions. Since December 2004, we have a new winter place, our self-made BMX hall called "Flatgroundarea". With my child mate Daniel Hennig I was on all competitions in Germany, also in the Netherlands, Austria and France.

Best runs? Contests?
I'm very self-critic and always unsatisfied. That's why I never made it to pull a contest in that way I wanted to pull. But if I have shows with Dan Hennig or Seppel P. like The Dome 23 we had a tv show and there were 30000 people in that place, all watching us. But - no nervosity or loss of power…
Any future plans?
I will push my flatland skills and myself in my job. We finished our "newscoolflatland" video dvd - it's out since spring 2005. Thanks to the producer MEDIAHEATZ. Also, I want to work together with agencies and art crews that are seriously interested in this wonderful bmx discipline.
Would you recommend KHE parts? Why (not)?
I would recommend the KHE parts in any case. The new collection is very stylish and hit's lot of people's tastes. But people should know how to use light-weight parts.
