Today, the idea with the Guard chainring is used by almost all BMX companies. The first samples, as seen in the pictures, were still very large and very wide. The basic idea of the Grinddisc comes from Albert Retey, Christian Wendland & Thomas Göring. They were all produced in Germany.
HARO Bikes had copied our original design and used it for their BMX bikes. Unfortunately we didn't patent the Grinddisc. The first foreign riders to use our Grinddisc were Matt Hoffman, Jay Miron and Pete Augustin.
